ACADEMIC

In our basic swimming course we teach you the least you need to know to be able to perform the PADI standards requirement in regards to the water surface skills, including, but not limited to swimming safety rules, acclimation, submersion, kicking, back-float, front-float, breath control, jumping in, dog paddle, dive and rise, threading water, straight kick, freestyle breathing, freestyle stroke.

Again, please note that this course objective aims at preparing you with the basic knowledge to perform the PADI scuba water surface skills requirement.  You will need to complete a 200 meters swim – this can be any stroke and isn’t timed, so you can take your time. You’ll also need to float for ten minutes – you can do this laying on your back or by treading water. Finally, you’ll complete some basic snorkelling skills. The most important thing is your level of comfort in the water.
